All are cultivated on Mount Olympus. They collaborate with organic farmers from whom they obtain chamomile, aloysia and lemon balm.

Karani Honey, Greece (Honey Production & Selling)

Karani Honey is a family run small business in the mountains of Agrafa. It produces and sells fir honey, chestnut honey, oak honey, arbutus honey, through nomadic beekeeping, carried in different mountainous regions. All products are sold in Greece, to delicatessen and local traditional shops.

Tree health, Greece (Yoga and Wellness Training & Environmental Learning Center)

Tree Health is a small business run by Theodora. It is a center for environmental learning, as well as a yoga and wellness activities training for children and adults. It is located in the city of Grevena and activities take place indoors and outdoors in several mountainous areas.

Melissourgoi, Greece (Sports & Recreation)

The mountain refuge is located at Melissourgoi village in Tzoumerka range. It provides accommodation, food and several outdoor activities (i.e. hiking, biking, music festivals, wellness, etc.) in the surrounding mountain region, all year round. The name of the village means “The Beekeepers” and it probably derives from the traditional occupation of its residents in the past.

Rare Ruminare, Ireland (Environmentally Sustainable Organic Farm & Producer)

Rare Ruminare is nestled near the Ox Mountains in Sligo. They produce farmed meat through natural farming and full organic standards so that their farm is truly in sync with nature. They mainly produce beef and lamb. They manage their farm as an entire ecosystem inclusive of healthy biological soil and diverse grass pastures. As a result animals produce nutrient rich healthy meat.

Crusader Cabins, Ireland (Rural Cabin & Lodge Accommodation)

Rural tourism accommodation looking out on Lough Melvin, this restored 17th Century Lakeland Lodge is a Bavarian style Log cabin located in Kinlough, a countryside village in County Leitrim. This Lakeland Lodge under the Dartry,  Arroo, Keeloge Mountains. It is over 300 years old and was originally built by farmers in Germany then transported it to Kinlough, Leitrim and rebuilt this stunning property in the most idyllic location. It has two bedrooms a rustic kitchen, an old style sitting room and outdoor hot tub with views overlooking Lough Melvin lake and surrounding mountains.

Panificio Fonzinella, Italy (Bakery)

The Fonzinella Bakery has been running for three generations. The bread recipe has always remained the same, as have the raw materials used. Today, the bakery is run by Fiore, a 29-year-old young man who has decided to stay in his village and carry on the tradition.

The Black & White Pizzeria of the young 32-year-old Francesco was founded in 2012 after a long experience gained working in the catering industry that led him to tour all over Italy. However, his dream has always been to return to his homeland and start an entrepreneurial activity able to harness all the agro-food excellence of the territory. On 7 October 2022 he received the award as a Starred Pizza Chef Guide.

Leone Beer Company, Italy (Craft Brewery)

The Leone craft brewery is the brainchild of Leone, who – after several experiences abroad – decided to return to his country to focus on an atypical product such as craft beer. He focused everything on telling the story of the territory through the raw materials used and with respect for the environment. The place is located in the town of Ascoli Satriano.

Established in 1935, the Juvara Winery has been handing down wine culture for generations. The varieties used are strictly indigenous. Juvara focuses on quality. With a small 7-hectare vineyard, they have decided to market their wine in a niche market. Antonietta is 25 years old and is involved in the marketing of wine, focusing everything on sustainability and the territoriality of the product, telling the story of the Monti Dauni.

Olio Montefedele, Italy (Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Production)

The Olio Montefedele farm is located in Bovino, in the Monti Dauni, its core business is the production of extra virgin olive oil from local varieties and centuries-old trees. Montefedele is a company in the Monti Dauni that has managed to combine respect for tradition with innovation, research and environmental sustainability. The olive varieties and trees themselves are centuries old and typical of the Monti Dauni, handed down from generation to generation by the Schiavone family. The young Gaetano has been able to enhance the family product by focusing on environmental sustainability and digital innovation thanks to the block chain system that allows the entire oil supply chain to be traced. The use of the latest generation of machinery allows all the notes and flavours of the olives to be kept intact. Montefedele oil was awarded as the best oil in Italy. Gaetano and his family, primarily his father, do not use any kind of chemical input or artificial irrigation, focusing on organic and sustainable methods.

BioRicci, Italy (Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Production)

The BioRicci company produces oil and products from the land of Monti Dauni. Their mission is to make the territory known and focus on respect for the land through sustainable agricultural production. They are in fact certified organic. BioRicci is located in the municipality of Lucera, in the Monti Dauni. Their production is mainly extra virgin olive oil and processing of preserves.

Birki is a new restaurant in Höfn that offers a seasonal menu made with Icelandic ingredients. Our focus is on offering local ingredients in a good environment.
